Reasons for Roadside Assistance in Dallas, TX; Dead or Bad Battery, Run Out of Gas, Locked Keys in Vehicle & More

Any device designed to transport people or things from point A to point B is a collection of mechanical components. It is the nature of mechanical components to wear and eventually fail. Hence, the car or truck is not 100% reliable. In fact, there are components that are designed to wear such as brakes and tires. Others have a lifespan determined by their operation such as batteries. All mechanical devices wear and will eventually fail. It is a modern miracle that our vehicles perform as well and as long as they do, at least until something goes wrong.

Jump Start & Cleaning Corrosion from Car Battery Terminals

Jump starts are needed when that tired old battery just can’t get started. Batteries have a primary point of failure at the terminals where the cables attach to the posts of the battery. Corrosion is the culprit; it can prevent charging and cuts power to where it will be insufficient to turn the starter. Cleaning the terminals and a jump is usually all that is needed to remedy the problem. It should restore full charging to the battery after driving a few miles.

Replacement of Bad Car Battery

Heat is the enemy of many car components like the battery. In high heat conditions even, the premium batteries deteriorate at a rapid rate, with three to four years between failure. If at the side of the road and it won’t start or run and terminals are clean you may have to change out that battery. Field battery change out is generally quite easily accomplished. We just need to know what your driving.

Run Out of Gas or Locked Keys in Car

Many of us get so caught up in everyday life we may not take much note of our fuel gauge. Run out of gas just once usually ensures that you are much more careful in the future. So, fuel delivery is a service we offer. Another common occurrence is getting locked out of your vehicle, like locking the doors and leaving your keys inside. Lookouts can be easily overcome by our technicians, sorry we cannot do much to assuage your embarrassment.

Automotive Cooling System & Belt Problems

Unfortunately, there are many points of failure in the cooling system. Belts and hoses are the weak points. Back in the day our older vehicles had multiple V-belts. In a lot of cases critical items like the water pump and alternator were driven by multiple belts. Failure wouldn’t leave you on the side of the road. But today we have that flat ‘serpentine’ belt that powers everything. It breaks and everything goes. It is a total loss for engine driven accessories. Those belts are tough and generally reliable but if it breaks, you’ll have a problem.

Car Hoses Wear Out & Fluids Should Be Topped Off

Car hoses should be replaced every five years or so. It’s not necessarily the miles you drive but the conditions you drive in. Heat is the enemy of all things mechanical. Hoses are vulnerable over time and the synthetic rubbers break down over time. Loosing a hose can destroy your engine, but in a fix, it can be replaced along with the fluid, anti-freeze and water. Oil, power steering and transmission fluids can also be topped off.
